Dating Information for dating Dinnerware, China & Porcelain

The following information may help you identify the age and production dates of your Dinnerware or China so you will be better able to match your set with missing pieces you need.  We will ad companies charts as we find them.

Homer Laughlin

From 1900 to 1909, the first number designated the month from 1 to 12. The second single number indicated the year, and the last number 1, 2 or 3 designated the three East Liverpool, Ohio plants.
From 1910-1919, a letter was used to designate the month, with one or two digit numbers indicating the year and the plant was indicated the letters L or N and a plant number
From 1920 to 1929, a number was used to designate the month, one or two digit numbers for the year and a letter and number for the plant. From 1930 to 1960, a letter indicated the month. A two digit number indicated the year and the letter and number indicated the plant. These numbers are in addition to the name Homer Laughlin and the shape in some instances

 

The Syracuse China Company  Mark Dating Coding

Above the decorative mark in the photo above you will see the number 13 and the letter D, this is the dating code for this particular item. Syracuse China has used a dating code for over 75 years on their products.
On newer items the month the item was produced is indicated by a letter:

B = February
C = March
D = April
E = May
F =
June

G = July
H = August
I = September
J = October
K = November
L = December

In 1857 the letter R was used during 1-19 of September, during 1860 the letter K was used for December.
